IT ALL STARTED WHEN...

Travis Colbert fell in love with coffee early one morning while drinking coffee picked from wild trees growing in the village and then pan-roasted over an open fire in a remote region of the Southern Philippines. Shortly after moving to Colorado in 2005, he landed a job as the production manager for a roaster in Minturn, and has been roasting coffee and serving as a barista in a number of cafes ever since. Prior to relocating to Gunnison County, Travis was a partner and operator of a roaster and café in Leadville. He is excited to be part of the community of Gunnison as owner and operator of Tributary Coffee Roasters.

ABOUT TRIBUTARY

TRI•BU•TARY: A RIVER OR STREAM FLOWING INTO A LARGER RIVER OR LAKE.

We are all connected by and dependent upon water. From those growing the coffee we serve high in their own watersheds, to our small roaster and cafe in the headwaters of the Colorado River, we deeply value and desire community connections. We hope that our tributary brings life and vitality to those downstream.

WHAT’S WITH THE BIRD?

The American Dipper lives year-round in rushing mountain streams. They have crazy adaptations to survive the winter and can fly in the air as well as under water. Feeding primarily on aquatic insects, dippers can only thrive in healthy tributaries. When not foraging in streams, they can be found dancing on rocks, in a curious and incessantly bobbing sort of way.
